Cariad Babi is a not for profit community project. We retail eco products for parents and children, and reinvest 100% profits into supporting families in our city. Where services have been cut, or are suffering from a lack of funding, we help!

We have a permanent city centre location making all these services easily accessible to all. Where families may not be able to afford support, we supplement the costs.

Two of the services we offer are Derby's very own full time Sling and Cloth Nappy Library. We also specialise in Car Seat Safety across the Midlands

Derby Sling Library

For a small weekly fee of just £5, you can hire any of our slings. Our trained consultant has years of knowledge and experience to help you find the sling that is right for you and your baby and our peer supporters are on hand every day too.

Why hire? As you may have realised, there are hundreds of slings on the market, and for good reason. They will each fit one person different to the next. This means there may be many carriers that don't suit you. So instead of purchasing only to find it doesn't work for you, we help narrow it down to the most likely options to work for you. You can then choose to loan a sling or even a few and see which suits best without the cost of buying. When you find one you love, we retail also!

Derby Cloth Nappy Library

Similar to slings, cloth nappies also have a huge variety, with many fitting one child different to the next - even within your own children! Cloth can feel expensive in the initial outlay, so we offer you a trial kit with a good representative of what's popular, for a very small fee! You can book a 1:1 demonstration of how to use, fit and care for cloth nappies, or simply hire the kit.
